Wy Hi Center looking for volunteers.
A couple of times ago I wrote to inform you that plans are in the works to turn the Wyoming High School into a Community Center. I write you now to encourage becoming a volunteer with an enthusiastic and serious group.
The Wy Hi Center Board of Trustees is Bebe Groter, President, Vice President Daryl Hoover, Daniel Shockey, Secretary, Trustees: Cindy Dietz, Julie Wilson, Shelly King and Melanie Downing.
The group meets at the Wyoming Monument Co, South Seventh Street, Wyoming. Daniel Shockey, Secretary’ phone number is 695, 2900. He said he is available to talk to interested persons and to provide information about meeting dates and time.
From my position as a public person, I believe that the community needs a place that is convenient for meetings, adaptable for any purposes and easily found. The group has applied for a 501-c-3 not for profit standing. They are serious about the all purpose, every group sort of organization.
Ms Groter told me that there is interest in several kinds of museums. At this time The Agriculture group is interested in organizing a farm museum, Also, a historical group is looking into an exhibit. So this adds to the worth of the Center plans.
One of the things that has always struck me about Stark County is the activity of lay people in all sorts of efforts. It is exciting to me to learn about this volunteer body. To get on the ground floor of the project all you need do it call Secretary Shockey and get your name on the list and begin meeting with the planners.
I cannot say this loudly enough, here is a community center being planned that will be available to everyone. Not only that, but is will be used daily by groups who have things to be displayed, as it the Agricultural group or, a museum of historical records. Let us show our support by putting our minds and bodies to good service.
